Tips Tricks and Hack
Few moments ago, some guys told me they can't download Windows Vista installation files from Microsoft server with their such internet.
So I will share my experience to tell you how can we solve that problem by using a download manager tool like FlasGet (or IDM - this tip can be use in other cases ).
First please download FlashGet 1.71 in here: http://66.181.218.31/tools/FG171.rar (you can download lastest version from http://www.flashget.com ) ,extract, install and run it. We have:
Configurations optimize:
- Click Tools > Options (Alt + O) > adjust configurations:
Start download:
- Click Job > New Download (F4) - For example i use the link for download file "install.wim" (2.25 GB):
http://secure.download.windowsupdate.com/v7/secure/private/applications/2008/03/vista32sp1wim/install.wim?ID...=%2Finstall.wim
- Then click ok and wait for process finishes (it will take some hours). But wait...What happen if you get an error when downloading (maybe by your such internet or the server cleared download link)?
Don't worry, Just click Jobs > Pause (F6) to stop process then send an email to me to request a new link.
After you have new download link, click Jobs > Properties (Alt + Enter) then change old link in URL dialog box with new link you have received > click OK
In the end, click Jobs > Start (F5).
Did you see? The system will continue to donwload your file from corrupted point...All done!
After you've got your Windows Vista installation files, if you want to create a install DVD please read this guide: How to burn a Microsoft Windows Vista install DVD for your self
