The new ALZip Egghead icon is cuter than ever and promises to put a smile on your face everytime you start your computer. That's him on the left on Windows Vista, but he's still super-cute on Windows XP and earlier as well, so nobody gets left out!
While the full resolution Vista icons in ALZip scale up to massive sizes according to your personal preferences, they are still attractive in Windows XP, 2000, 98 and guaranteed to make your computer look better. Click the thumbnail below on the left to see the various types of archives that you can open with ALZip and the glassy icons that represent them. For a full sized preview of the smooth glassy ALZip archive icons in all their glory, click the thumbnail below on the right.
ALZip Windows Vista Icon Thumbnails (that's right - they're not full sized here - click to see them full sized!): Speed Extractor
Faster than anything you've ever experienced before, the new Speed Extractor in ALZip is the world's fastest way to extract your archives.

Simply double-click on a ZIP archive and ALZip will automatically extract the file(s) into your preferred default folder. This default folder can be pre-defined in ALZip's preferences.
The ALZip Speed Extractor gives you three distinct speed levels:

- Open with ALZip = Normal
- Extract to My Default Folder = FASTEST!
- Show Menu = Super fast
THE NEED FOR SPEED: The "Extract to My Default Folder" lets you instantaneously extract archives just by double-clicking on them in Windows Explorer. You get to skip all that GUI stuff and just extract the files. It is impossible to get faster than this unless the computer is reading your mind!
SUPER FAST: The "Show Menu" option is the second fastest way to extract archives. This opens a nice, clean instant menu for you to choose from the most important archiving tasks. This is your super-fast 2-click option. Here's what it looks like:
And if all that wasn't fast enough for you, setting your preferred default directory for the Speed Extractor is lightning fast with 8 preset options for you and 1 customizable space for wherever you like:
Choose from the these popular locations on your hard disk:

- Desktop
- My Documents
- My Pictures
- Current Folder
And of course a custom folder option is available for you by browsing to any folder on your computer.
Overwriting Files

- Always
- If Newer (Update)
- If Older (Restore)
To update a set of files on disk, the "If Newer (Update)" option will extract only those files from the archive that are newer than the files on disk. This is especially handy for large project directories.
If Older (Restore)
Restoring backups is simple with this option. Only those files from the archive that are older are written to disk. This is especially useful for restoring corrupted project directories where something has gone wrong, but you have a backup archive where the project was in a good state.
